Problem

A wave propagates on a string with speed $v = 12\;\text{m/s}$ and frequency $f = 8{,}0\;\text{Hz}$. Calculate the wavelength.

Solution

Fundamental relation. For every wave $v = \lambda f$, so:

$\lambda = \frac{v}{f} = \frac{12}{8{,}0} = \ev{1{,}5\;\mathrm{m}}$
