Step 3 — Ordering the frequencies. Since ν∝ΔE:
ν4→3<ν3→2<ν4→2<ν5→2
Step 4 — Which are visible. Transitions to nf=2 form the Balmer series, which falls in the visible range: 3→2 (656 nm, red), 4→2 (486 nm, cyan), 5→2 (434 nm, violet). The 4→3 transition has ΔE=0,66 eV ⇒λ≈1875 nm: it falls in the infrared (Paschen series), not visible.
