Same initial state (p1,V1)(p_1,V_1) and final state (p2,V2)(p_2,V_2), with p1>p2p_1>p_2 and V2>V1V_2>V_1. Path 1 goes through (p1,V2)(p_1,V_2) (high isobar then isochore down); path 2 goes through (p2,V1)(p_2,V_1) (isochore down then low isobar). Compare the work done along the two paths and comment on why ΔU\Delta U is instead the same.
